Abortion has always been a touchy subject in the United States and around the world for over 50 years. In 1973, abortion in the United States became a serious issue during the Roe vs Wade case. The Roe vs Wade case ruled that if neither the mother nor the premature life can sustain life that you are legally allowed to perform an abortion. According to statistics, since 1973 there have been nearly 50 million abortions; there are approximately 1.6 million abortions per year.

Women have abortions for various reasons. In some cases, women can get impregnated by sexual assault and may choose to abort the premature life. There may also be a lack of financial support that can affect how the baby’s childhood will be. Women can also choose to have an abortion if it is a risk to their health or the baby’s health. If a woman has a bright future that can be made impossible by having a child, then she may have an abortion. A woman can make the decision to have an abortion if there is no presence of the father.

People argue the right to abort a premature life for various reasons as well. One of the biggest oppositions for abortion is religious beliefs. Christianity is one of the main religions that are completely against abortion. A woman can choose to have the child because of her willingness to become a mother. If the woman is older than 18, then her parents should not have the authority to allow or deny the abortion procedure.
